Hello there!

My name is Julia Di Kang-Olsson.

I work as an integrative physiotherapist, pain recovery coach and researcher supporting people living with persistent pains, fatigue and invisible illnesses.

I am passionate about guiding people to feel more at ease in their body and mind, learn/discover/reconnect with knowledge, mindset and tools that they can have with them for the rest of their lives, and broaden their options in movement, thinking and life.

A little more about me

🌱 My passion for this work began personally - growing up, I wanted to support a close family member with their persistent pains and symptoms so that they can engage with and savour more of themselves, and the people, places and activities that they love. Then it got even more personal when I was humbled with my own persistent pain experience and I changed careers completely to dive broad and deep into what contributes to a person's persistent pains and symptoms, and what can help them.

💛 In my clinical roles, I work as an integrative physiotherapist and pain recovery coach at two award-winning clinics - Zebras Australia and BOOST Health Lab. I support people living with a range of overlapping conditions including HSD, EDS, Dysautonomia, POTS, orthostatic intolerance, MCAS/MCAD, Chronic Widespread Pain, Fibromyalgia, persistent pain syndromes, ME/CFS, burnout, mental health challenges and trauma history.

💡In my research, I am currently exploring how the Autonomic Nervous System (measured through Heart Rate Variability) can be harnessed to improve the health and wellbeing of people living with Chronic Widespread Pain.

☀️ Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends, being in nature, aerial silks, crochet and trying new things.

I respectfully acknowledge the Gadigal people as the Traditional Custodians of the land that I get to live, work and learn on today.

I honour their Elders, past and present, and recognise the enduring connection of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to culture, community and Country.
